Chris and I had a lovely time this past week. The scholl party rocked. Pictures of me as a perky cheerleader to follow.

I am now getting geared up for a serious last 1/2 of the semester. Meanwhile I have a cut finger as I was making cookies yesterday with a big knife. Typing is tough!!

10)Because Monday's 8am class included a puppet show, a native american ritual and a trip to the Mall for coffee
9) Because after every workstudy with DK, you get beer for working, as well as getting paid.
8) Thursday night Art Gallery exhibit/parties where you sober up at 5 am while doing interpretive dance to stoned people banging on keyboards and a bass.
7) Maxim the Hamster in student services.
6) The Director's cut box in the Media lab for copying films to Final Cut 4 ... is free.
5) crazy thunderstorms and soaked artists looking silly
4) planning Halloween and knowing there's a $20,000 budget
3) Teachers canceling classes because they have professional shows and lives beyond school.
2) Because wearing a corset and leather pants to class is accepted.
1) because Marc Brickman (Pink Floyd, Blueman Group, Lighting Designer) was a guest teacher in a class of 10 students today.

so the whole issue is explained:

1) small finishing nail in tire on front drivers side
2) mis-mounted BOTH front tires from JULY in NY. (directional tires were put in backwards, hence destroying the struts)
3) explosion on Drivers side tire was from Nail AND Mis-mount so the warrenty is moot.
4) trying to get the place in NY to pay for the strut replacement won't work: they can argue 2 months has passed and the chance I rotated them somewhere else.

ACK.

$540 later and I might have a working car in a day or so.

02:37 am - fucking LA roads...

well, it happened. My first car issue in CA.

My front drivers side tire blew out on Southbound 101 at 9pm Sunday night.
In the rainstorm. (no one can drive here in the rain)
At an Underpass... (what's with me and underpasses?? **see previous accident entry from May)
... as a warning I should have heeded: my wheel well was damaged on Friday. Go figure.

Now is when I remember that I was supposed to join AAA before leaving NYC.

I need a mechanic as my car now veers sharply to the left, and I am riding on a full size spare that (Thankfully!) I keep in the trunk. Now I seriously owe kraftwink a thanks (actually his DAD) for the jack he gave me last time I needed my alternator fixed.

Some Russian mafioso looking guy pulled over in his SAAB & tried to help me, then wanted to pay for the tow truck guy who was assisting me, but a LAPD officer shooed him off... goodness knows what he wanted from me in exchange.

It was $60 to get the tire changed roadside. I would have done it myself but I have no tire iron (DOH!) and my wrench wasn't holding onto the bolts.

8am class is gonna suck if I can't get there since i need to get to a car repair place in the Morning....
